SAFETY STATEMENT in Response to Recent Media Coverage of Pauls Karlson's (The Blue Man) Case of Argyria

You may have seen or heard about Paul Karlson's recent interviews on the Today Show, CNN and other networks. Over the course of fourteen years, he has developed argyria from over consumption of electrically processed ionic silver that he produced from a home-use silver generator. He has also stated his face is a bluish color from applying home-prepared silver topically to his face for dermatitis.

Argyria is a cosmetic condition that causes a bluish discoloration of the skin from over-consumption of large particle size silver or silver salts. It is rare for individuals to develop argyria. When individuals use silver generators (without testing for particle size) and consume excessive amounts, they have created the possibility of being at higher risk for argyria.

Since 1994, Natural Path/Silver Wings has provided a pharmaceutical grade of mild silver protein colloidal silver. Our colloidal silver is not electrically processed. Properly prepared colloidal silver should range between 0.001 to 0.01 microns (1-10 nanometers) for safe consumption. If the colloidal silver particles are larger than this, it can potentially lodge in one's tissues. We follow the strict guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices "GMP" enforced by the FDA.
